Ferrari 296 GTS

Do you happen to have a sloppy 3.5 tons lying around with which you want to spoil yourself in the automotive field? Then crank up the Dutch Ferrari configurator. For around €350,000 you can get into the Ferrari 296 GTS, the open version of the technically equally impressive 296 GTB.

The days when Ferrari only offered a small number of models are long gone. Kroymans’ Ferrari menu includes the brand new Purosangue, the 812 GTS, the SF90 Stradale and SF90 Spider, the F8 Tributo and F8 Spider, the Ferrari Roma and Roma Spider and, for a moment, the Portofino M. Let’s not forget two ? Certainly! As an alternative to the F8 Tributo and F8 Spider with V8 located behind the front seats, Ferrari has developed the plug-in hybrid 296 GTB and 296 GTS. Those fantastic plug-ins have a 663 hp 2.9 V6 that, together with a 167 hp electric motor, is good for a system power of – hold on – 830 hp and 740 Nm. At the beginning of 2022 we were able to tell you the price of the Ferrari 296 GTB and now AutoWeek can exclusively report what you have to pay for the open variant: the Ferrari 296 GTS.

The Ferrari 296 GTS costs €344,987 in the Netherlands. This makes it seem almost half a ton more expensive than the 296 GTB that had €301,848 written on its price tag. Seems, indeed. The price difference is smaller. The closed Ferrari 296 GTB is becoming more expensive and is now yours from €324,805. The average mortal will undoubtedly start to get dizzy from such amounts and price differences, but we expect that they will only disturb the rest of the average Ferrari buyer for a very short time.

The Ferrari 296 GTS – which the three letters in its model name stand for Gran Turismo Spider – stomps from a standstill to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds and reaches 200 km / h in just over 7.5 seconds. Its top speed is just over 330 km/h. The 7.45-kWh battery provides the Italian muscle bundle with an electric range of up to 25 kilometers. The GTS is about 100 kilos heavier than the 296 GTB, but in return you get a retractable roof that gives your crown access to a potential whirlwind at a speed of 45 km / h in 14 seconds.
