Immediately after the launch of the new BMW 7-series, it became clear what the electric variant of that car, the BMW i7, would cost. In the meantime, another version has been entrusted to the configurator, although this is not yet complete.

The BMW 7-series is now in BMW’s model overview with a starting price of €124,207. That overview does not yet specify which engine version that is, and at the time of writing it is too late to call after that. However, we suspect that it is the plug-in hybrid 750e, which comes out of the BPM calculator favorably with its theoretically low CO2 emissions. The new plug-in hybrid from BMW still has four-wheel drive as standard and, like any other version of the new 7-series, is only available with a long wheelbase. The most comparable ‘old’ 7 is therefore the 745Le xDrive, which was listed for €122.451. That strengthens our suspicion.

The only price we do know for sure is that of the only new 7-series without a charging cable. The 740d xDrive delivers 299 hp and costs €130.979. Those who want it with the sporty M Sport finery will lose at least €139,595. That makes it still slightly cheaper than the bald version of the electric and therefore bpm-free i7, but with its 544 hp powertrain, it operates on a different level.
