Popular with lease drivers in 2018
The Jaguar i-Pace caused a lot of commotion in the business market at the end of 2018. The all-electric model made a lot of lease drivers enthusiastic due to the additional tax benefit to get in just before December 31. The winter confronts EV drivers with a small range. Now that we are almost three and a half years later, we can fortunately give a good picture of what the range is like at nice temperatures. However, we also drove it in temperatures below 0 degrees.
Fortunately, we already had a copy on loan for a week in the summer of 2018, in a comparative test in which the i-Pace competed against a Tesla Model S 75D. Temperature 23 degrees, calm summer weather, and then the car with the battery pack of 90 kWh came 330 kilometers on a charge. In March 2020 we sent the Jaguar i-Pace on the road for a range test with several electric cars and on that trip we got 11 kilometers more, the consumption was 23.4 kWh/100 km. The temperature was just below 10 degrees Celsius. A year later, a Jaguar i-Pace faced even lower temperatures, in the comparative test of the electric Jag against the BMW iX3 it was -5 degrees Celsius and the consumption of the i-Pace exceeded the limit of 30 kWh/ 100 kilometers.
At 31.5 kWh/100 km, the Jaguar only managed 269 kilometers on a charge. We then had an i-Pace that could charge with three phases, the Jaguar was not yet able to do that with the first batch. Fast charging is possible up to 100 kW.

All sixteen reviewers who keep track of the findings with their i-Pace have an EV400. An EV320 has also been delivered, the car with the same battery pack but with software adjusted differently so that the power is 320 hp instead of 400 hp. The range of that version is the same: 470 kilometers according to WLTP.
This reviewer notes that the car actually needs more power than the car indicates via the on-board computer. Hence his comment that the practical range is between 350 and 400 kilometers. We measure the consumption of electric cars at the charging station. During summer holiday trips with a roof box, he notes a range between 250 and 300 kilometers.
