This is how far the Peugeot e-2008 comes in practice

The electric version of the Peugeot 2008, the e-2008, has been on the market since the summer of 2020. At AutoWeek we tested it several times, under various conditions. In addition, there are also the necessary user experiences in the review section on this site. So it’s high time to answer the question: how far will the Peugeot e-2008 get in practice?

If a car is in a comparative test, we usually drive the car for a week. The first time that applied to the Peugeot e-2008, it took on the Hyundai Kona Electric. In the summer of 2020, it was 23 degrees, clear and dry during the period of the test measurements. In that test, the Peugeot e-2008 achieved a test consumption of 20.3 kWh per 100 kilometers, and the car with the 50 kWh battery pack reached 246 kilometers on a charge. At the end of 2020 we included the Peugeot e-2008 in the endurance test fleet and with that car we made a comparative test with the Citroën ë-C4. It was in the coldest period of the year, February 2021, and with outside temperatures of -2 degrees Celsius, the Peugeot e-2008 reached 229 kilometers on a charge. The average energy consumption was 230 kilometers.

By the onset of spring, the temperatures were more pleasant, and the endurance tester traveled 260 kilometers on a charge. The conditions were such that the air conditioning did not have to be turned on, at around 12 degrees we recorded 260 kilometers on a charge, which amounts to 19.2 kWh per 100 kilometers.

As a test car at AutoWeek, the Peugeot e-2008 traveled 230 kilometers in the winter and 260 kilometers in the spring.

What do the users get?

In addition to the test consumption of AutoWeek, there are also drivers of a Peugeot e-2008 who keep their findings in a user review. This reviewer started driving his electric Peugeot in September and will travel 250 to 270 kilometers in the first period, with the note that the air conditioning has barely been on and the speed did not exceed 105 kilometers per hour.

Another e-2008 driver notes in his experiences that on longer highway trips, his Peugeot goes 238 kilometers on a single charge. This makes the amount of kilometers covered by the reviewers similar to what we have already concluded in various tests, a Peugeot e-2008 is in practice 230 to 260 kilometers on a battery charge.

More range

Incidentally, we have not yet tested the Peugeot e-2008 with the announced larger range, and such a copy is also missing in the user reviews. By using a heat pump, the e-2008 must travel 25 kilometers on a single battery charge. The manufacturer’s specification is then 345 kilometers. For the tested copies, the promised range is 320 kilometers, although Peugeot has very neatly on its own site a range predictor which indicates the range if you enter the type of use.
