This is how you adjust the Instagram photos of your friends with Instagram Remix

Editing your own photos is a breeze with Instagram, but did you know you can also edit the snaps of your friends? Thanks to a new update, this is possible from today. And we show you how.

This is how Instagram Remix works

In an effort to get people to send more private messages through Instagram, the company has added a neat new feature. With Instagram Remix, you can edit the photo that a friend just sent you at the touch of a button.

This photo will then be turned into a sticker, so you can take it in the photo yourself, or simply draw something on it before returning it.

Check if you are running version 24 of Instagram on your iPhone. The new Instagram Remix function is available from this version. It goes like this:

Here’s how to adjust the photos of your friends:

  1. Open your Instagram private messages;
  2. Tap a photo to select it;
  3. Then tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen;
  4. Compose a reaction with your own photo, or draw on your friend’s existing photo;
  5. Send the photo to show the edited copy to your friend.

In addition to Instagram Remix, from version 24 of the app you can also set whether a private message can be reopened or viewed only once. By allowing replay, the people you are sending the message to will have more time to look at your creation. The update for Instagram that adds these two functions is now available to everyone in the App Store.
