
There can be many reasons to disconnect your Apple Watch from your phone, such as if you plan to sell your smart watch. Even if your watch is no longer working properly, it can pay to unpair it and delete all data. Fortunately, Apple makes it quite easy for you if you plan on factory resetting your Apple Watch.
Before resetting your watch to factory settings, it is important to realize that you will lose all data on your Apple Watch. Although Apple basically automatically backs up your data before you reset your watch, it doesn’t hurt to create a manual backup yourself, just to be on the safe side.
Disconnect and erase data
The easiest and safest way to unpair your watch is through your iPhone near the Apple Watch. Then go to the Watch app on your phone and tap the name you gave your watch. By pressing the orange i-icon you will enter a menu with some other settings and options Pair Apple Watch loose in red. When you tap that, you will get a warning that you will lose all your data. If you agree, you can unpair your Apple Watch after entering your Apple ID password.

Still not everything gone?
Sometimes it may be that your iPhone has lost the connection with your Apple Watch, but that there is still some data on the watch. In that case, you can go to the Settings app on your watch via the gray gear. Bee General you will find the option Please reset. Tap that and choose Delete all content and settings. All your data will then be deleted and your watch will be reset to the factory settings. Keep in mind that this will keep your watch linked to your account, so it’s important that you unpair your Apple Watch first before deleting all of your data via the latter.
