You can now use ‘Letters’ via Instagram Stories. These are texts without photo or video, but with color. We explain how this new feature works.
Using the new Instagram Stories Letters mode
Instagram Stories continues to expand. For example, at the end of last year it was time for Superzoom to make your Stories extra dramatic. Now it is possible to send a Story that consists only of text and color.
It was of course already possible to write a text over a photo or video, but with the new Letters mode, the text has the focus and you can choose a different font, background color or text color. To find this mode, complete the following steps:
- Open Instagram;
- Tap the picture of your head at the top left with the plus sign and ‘You’ below it;
- At the bottom of the screen scroll to the option ‘Letters’ or ‘Type’;
- Write your text;
- With the button at the top you can adjust the style;
- And with the button at the bottom left you adjust the color.
The new function is somewhat like Facebook, where it has also been possible for a while to place text with a colored background in order to stand out even more. Since the end of 2017, it is also possible to attach a selection of Stories to your profile. Of course you can also use the Stories with text for this, so that you can capture a kind of message. There are probably a lot of creative things to do with that. This is how you pin Instagram Stories to your profile.
