This is the facelifted Volkswagen T-Roc! And no, the T-Roc is not that little…

Which is the T-Roc and which is the T-Cross? We always get confused. In any case, here we look at the Volkswagen T-Roc, which will also be released as a convertible after its facelift. We will no longer see the sporty T-Roc R in the Netherlands.

The facelift of the Volkswagen T-Roc has little to offer at first glance, but you can easily distinguish the newcomer from its predecessor. An illuminated strip now runs through the grille at the front of the T-Roc, connecting the two headlight units. The light bar belongs to the optional LED matrix lighting. The T-Roc comes standard with LED headlights. The front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned, the compact SUV always has dark-tinted taillights and a number of new exterior colors and wheel designs (16 – 19 inches) are available.

Volkswagen T-Roc also with those rotten touchpads and sliders

In the interior, Volkswagen has unfortunately chosen to get rid of as many physical buttons as possible. Following the example of the Golf and ID.3, the T-Roc also has those annoying touchpads and sliders on the steering wheel and center console. When you’re on the road with it, you’ll notice: these kind of touch-sensitive buttons – which you can’t feel because they are flat – require more attention to operate. In the T-Roc you get an 8 inch digital instrumentation (10.25 inch is optional) and an infotainment system (with a 6.5, 8.0 or 9.2 inch screen) as standard.

No more sporty T-Roc with 300 hp in the Netherlands

Volkswagen offers the T-Roc in four trim levels: T-Roc, Life, Style and R-Line. The 110 hp 1.0 TSI petrol engine and the 150 hp 1.5 TSI have a manual gearbox as standard. Only the latter is also available with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Above it is the 2.0 TSI with 190 hp, the same DSB gearbox and four-wheel drive. The T-Roc Cabrio is only available with the 1.0 TSI or 1.5 TSI. Searching in vain for the sporty T-Roc R (300 hp). It won’t return. The new T-Roc will be launched in March. You have to wait a month longer for the convertible version.
