Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition

There is a way to say goodbye. And Jaguar does it. There will never be a new sporty model from the brand with a combustion engine and soon it will be over for the very last sporty Jags that are not EVs. With this limited ZP Edition of the Jaguar F-Type, the English say goodbye to the sports car with a combustion engine after more than 75 years.

Jaguar will launch an electric GT in 2024 with a range of up to 700 kilometers. That will be the first, but certainly not the last, sporty Jaguar with an electric drivetrain. About 75 years after the arrival of the first Jaguar marketed as sporty – the XK120 (1948) – the brand’s sporty models with a combustion engine are almost over. The Jaguar F-Type is on its last legs and with the limited ZP Edition, Jaguar is saying goodbye to its sporty petrol-fired model once and for all.

For the latest series of F-Types, Jaguar is not inspired by the XK120, but by the racing versions of the even more famous E-Type. The F-Type ZP Edition – only available with the 575 hp 5.0 V8 with Supercharger – is available as a Coupé and as a Convertible. Both body variants are available in one of two special color schemes that, according to the English, hark back to the ‘Project ZP’ E-Types. These were racing versions that crashed around international circuits shortly after the arrival of the E-Types. The first color scheme: an Oulton Blue Gloss painted exterior and an interior in Mars Red and Ebony. The second color scheme includes a Crystal Gray Gloss exterior that is combined with Navy Blue and an Ebony for the interior. Regardless of the color scheme, you get a large round white circle on the flanks, a reference to the white circle that used to contain the car’s racing number. This roudel – as Jaguar calls it – is applied by hand. The grille is framed in the same white color.

More external details in which you can recognize the ZP Editions? Certainly. Of course there are the necessary ZP Edition Badges. In addition, the cars are equipped with glossy black details and stand on 20-inch alloy wheels that are also available in black. Each copy receives a plaque on the dashboard with the production number. After all, there will only be 150 of them.

Will the special farewell edition of the F-Type overtake the Dutch market? Certainly not. The Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition can also be ordered in the Netherlands. The Jaguar F-Type Coupé ZP Edition costs €236,252. The F-Type Convertible ZP Edition will set you back €241,312. The Jaguar F-Type was presented in open form in 2012 and was also available as a Coupé not much later. A total of 548 copies are registered in the Netherlands.
