This summer in AutoWeek Classics we had a 1974 Maserati Quattroporte II in a double test against a Citroen SM. We thought that was a good reason to take a look at how many Maserati old-timers can actually be found in our country.

That certainly did not disappoint. Our regular figure supplier Vinacles fished no fewer than 310 Maseratis built in 1983 and older from the vehicle registration register. You will understand that there are several unique copies, and of many models there is only one in the Netherlands. But of some models there are quite a lot, and even more than you might think.

Top 10 most common Maserati classic cars in the Netherlands:

42 copies of the 3500GT

34 copies of the Biturbo

31 copies of the Quattroporte

27 copies of the Ghibli

27 copies of the Merak

23 copies of the Mistral

23 copies of the Indy

15 copies of the Sebring

15 copies of the Khamsin

12 copies of the Bora

The story with the Quattroporte II is in AutoWeek Classics 8 2023 including a double test with the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV and the Datsun Silvia.
