This is the Polestar Precept!

At the Geneva Motor Show, Polestar will introduce the Precept Concept to the public, a relatively production-ready study model that is today experiencing its digital debut.

Polestar presented itself as a manufacturer that would only build fully electric cars, but turned its first production model into a plug-in hybrid. The Polestar 1 was fortunately quickly joined by the fully electric Polestar 2 and with that, the sport label of Volvo and Geely, to a certain extent, consists of two models. Geneva has this Precept Concept, a study model that gives Polestar a hint of what will be added to the Polestar family in the future.

Polestar describes the Precept as a study model “in which all ambitions of the brand come together”. In other words: the Precept gives an outline of the (design) direction in which the brand will move in the coming years. The Precept has a fully glass roof that blends into the windscreen almost seamlessly. The concept car has striking lighting on both front and rear. On the back we see, how could it be otherwise, a light bar running across the entire width of the butt. The headlights of the show car deviate in design terms from the lighting of the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2. If the Precept does indeed indicate what we can expect from the brand in the future, it could in any case mean that Polestars is more emphatically in terms of design. from Volvo models.

Polestar gives the Precept what it calls the Smart Zone, a snout in which Polestar has mounted two radar sensors. The lidar unit gets a place on the roof. It is not for nothing that that hardware is present, because the Precept would also have autonomous skills. Side mirrors are missing; Polestar has given cameras to its newcomer.

The Precept, which has a wheelbase of 3.1 meters, is crammed with smart infotainment, among other things, that does not distract the driver’s attention from the road. According to Polestar, only information that is actually needed at that time is displayed. In addition, Polestar is proud of the use of recycled materials in the interior. For example, the seats are covered with braided material that comes from PET bottles. The floor mats are in turn made from recycled fishing nets. Polestar does not yet give technical specifications. In any case, count on an electric range of 500 kilometers.
