No Hemi V8…

The brand new Dodge Charger is fully electric, but fortunately for fans of fuel power, a fuel version will also be available on the market. It just sounds a bit different than the outgoing Charger with V8.
It seemed that Dodge would suddenly switch from very excessive gasoline violence in its muscle cars to silent electric propulsion, but fortunately for the petrolheads it’s not going that fast. The new Dodge Charger, which replaces both the existing Challenger and the Charger, will be available with a fuel engine in addition to being an EV. Not just any fuel engine, but a Hurricane-baptized new 3.0 inline-six. Well, new, it has been available for a while. Jeep already puts it in the (Grand) Wagoneer and you can buy it separately as a ‘crate engine’.
The latter in particular means that we already have quite a good idea of what the new Dodge Charger will sound like when it gets kicked on the tail. Direct Connection, affiliated with Dodge, has already put such a Hurricane in a Challenger to show the potential of that engine in a Dodge. In the video below TheMopar Junkie From 0:20 you see that car – albeit a bit cautiously – in action. It sounds nice and bright, although the contrast with the Hemi’s you hear in the beginning of the video is clear.
