This way you can try out Android on your iPhone

Do you have an iPhone, but have you doubted for a long time whether you should switch to an Android phone? Good news: you can recently try out Android on your iPhone.

The sale of the Galaxy S21 phones is going fairly smoothly, but Samsung still wants to attract more customers. The smartphone manufacturer is doing everything in its power to convince Apple users to switch to a Galaxy phone by introducing them to the Android operating system via a web app.

Samsung designed an interactive website iPhonegive users a taste of what Galaxy phones have to offer without actually switching. In fact, you don’t even need to download an app, as everything runs through your phone’s browser.

That’s how it works

If you want a taste of the Android operating system, go to www.itest.nz. Use your iPhone to scan the QR code that appears on the screen and in the Camera app you will then see a link to the same website, but the mobile version of it. The website will ask you to save the page to your home screen. You do this by tapping the square with an arrow pointing up at the bottom of the screen. Choose Put on home screen and then for add. You will now find Samsung iTest on your home screen. At first glance, this looks like an app, but it is actually a saved bookmark.

Scan the QR code with your iPhone.

Tap on it and after the introductory text you will see the home screen as you would if you have a Samsung phone, including all the apps that are standard on a Galaxy smartphone. The apps really work (to an extent, of course). This way you can actually call a number (you just never get someone on the phone, because everyone is “busy with their new Galaxy phone”) or send text messages. Every so often you will receive messages back and you will even be called. But don’t be alarmed: it remains a simulation.

Apps

You can also get acquainted with Samsung Kids, the health app Samsung Health and Smart Switch, with which you can easily transfer your data from your iPhone to a new Galaxy phone. The functionalities of the Camera app and the Galaxy Store are also discussed.

Although it remains to be seen whether Samsung can actually convince iPhone users to purchase a Galaxy phone, the phone manufacturer is indeed making a strong (and hilarious) effort.

Are you convinced of the Android operating system and do you want to switch? In this article we explain how to do that.
