WhatsApp is getting a new group feature that allows group members to see who has left the group. The feature is currently being tested in the chat app beta.
Participants in WhatsApp groups
WhatsApp is currently working on a new WhatsApp groups feature. The function is called See Past Participants and WABetaInfo can already get started in WhatsApp Beta for iOS.
If you open a WhatsApp group later, and go to via the three dots at the top right Group information you will see the button below the participants. You will find an overview of participants who have left or have been removed from the group. The feature is visible to all members of the group, not just the group admins. The new feature is especially useful for large groups where participants want to have a better overview of who has left the group, or who has all been removed.
This new WhatsApp groups feature was released to some beta testers today and more beta testers will be able to take advantage of it in the coming weeks. Whether and when the option will come to the stable version is unknown. WhatsApp may make some changes before everyone can use it. What you can already do is hide your online status and mute participants in video calls. In addition, the following features are planned to be rolled out: administrators gain more control over group conversations, avatars for video calls, and adding a voice message to WhatsApp Status.
