Vision 2.0

Opel continues nicely with the renewal of its family face. The ‘Vizor grille’ has only just been spread over the majority of the model range, or we are already seeing a further evolution of it. The Opel Experimental introduces Opel to a new chapter.
At the beginning of September, Opel will present the ‘Experimental’, a study model that heralds a new phase for the brand. A phase in which Opel, like many other brands, is rolling out a model range that is, in principle, fully electric. Such a new chapter naturally also includes a fresh family face and we are already catching a glimpse of that.
The first photo shows the most of the Opel Experimental. It is already pretty good to see how the front of the study model is filled in. It is clear that Opel is revamping its Vizor grille, which debuted a few years ago on the Mokka. There is a bit more going on than we are used to from Opel. Of course, the new logo is in it, but there is also a fairly transparent panel with vertical slats behind it. In that panel there is a fold over the entire width, which is illuminated just like the Opel logo. Also striking are the large vertical (chrome?) strips above and below the nose. Together with the correctly horizontally oriented headlights, this should represent a kind of compass.

Opel Experimental
Of the four remaining images, there is only one that will teach us a little bit more. In the above image we see a rear light, most likely seen from the side of the car. The rear light seems to be an amalgamation of a stripe of LED lighting and a somewhat larger unit. The LED unit, which protrudes slightly from the carriage, probably also functions as a direction indicator. Finally, we see a detailed shot of a wheel. According to Opel, the wheel design is inspired by wind turbines, as a reference to the pursuit of ideal aerodynamics. The body of the Opel Experimental will probably also be quite streamlined as a whole, although there is a good chance that it is a high-legged study model. Around September 5 we get to see the Opel Experimental.
