Microprocessors have been created with the same basic technology for decades. And despite all the prophecies of doom, this is far from exhausted.

Sometimes it takes something very big to create something very small. Take microprocessors, for example: Modern semiconductor factories cover an area roughly the size of four soccer fields. There, electronic components are created whose characteristic structures measure just 0.02 microns.

Such processors changed the world. They are found in PCs, notebooks, smartphones and also in watches, televisions, medical devices and automobiles. Computers are already ubiquitous today and are still growing in popularity. Was there a computer in the 1960s?
