Apple presents the iPhone 17 series in September, so that is already over two months. Every year the what the differences are between the new Pro models rises. We list for you how Apple will probably distinguish between the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the iPhone 17 Pro.
No new camera features, but a longer battery life
So far, Apple distinguishes its pro models by means of special camera features. The Pro Max model sometimes gets a new camera function for its smaller brother for a year or more. For example, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 5x Telvalenzoom and the smaller Pro model a 3x zoom.
So far there are no rumors this year that the new Pro Max model will have an exclusive camera function. And the first rumors about a smaller Dynamic Island on the Pro Max now seem less certain. There is an even greater change for the Pro Max and that is the battery life. Apple’s Pro Max model always has a better battery life than its smaller brother, but that will be even more the case this year.
This ensures the longer battery life
This year, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is reportedly getting thicker to accommodate a larger battery. Leaked product dimensions confirm this. For comparison: the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.25 mm thick, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is probably 8.73 mm thick.
The iPhone 17 Pro, on the other hand, does not change size at all. Apart from a larger ‘camera island’ at the back, the new Pro model has the same basic dimensions as last year’s iPhone 16 Pro.
We expect that the iPhone 17 Pro Max has a longer battery life than all previous iPhone models. The battery life of the iPhone 17 Pro will probably be about the same as that of the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro still has a much better battery life than the ultra -thin new iPhone 17 Air.
