iPhoned shows in this tip how to add people to your Facebook Messenger conversation without hanging up.
Messenger: Add people without hanging up
Facebook has released an update for Messenger. From now on it is possible to add people during a telephone or video call, without having to hang up first. You do this like this:
- Start a Facebook Messenger audio or video call;
- Tap your screen. Icons will now appear on the screen;
- Select the rightmost icon (add friends) and select who you want to add;
- Confirm your choice and you’re done.

You can see up to six people on screen at the same time, while up to 50 people can participate in the conversation. These people are displayed at the top of the screen. When more than six people are in a video chat, everyone sees the “leader” of the conversation on screen. This is the person who started the conversation.
After the conversation ends, you can send everyone a Facebook message, including some points you just mentioned. You can also choose to send a message to only a few participants. The update addresses a common complaint among users. Until now, you always had to hang up, then add the appropriate people and start a new conversation.
