On the Mac, you don’t need to use an app or web browser to share your status on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. You can also do this from the Message Center. We show you how.
Notification Center on Mac

The Message Center is a function where all notifications are collected. All notifications are in the Notifications tab, while the Today tab shows information about the weather, your calendar and other activities. What you may not know is that you can also use the Notification Center to use services like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. However, you must first activate these services. You do this by following the steps below.
- Activate the Notification Center by clicking the button on the right side of the menu bar (with the three dashes), or swiping the trackpad from right to left with two fingers;
- Click on ‘Edit’ at the bottom right and add the option ‘Social’ at ‘Parts’;
- Choose ‘Done’ and switch to the Today tab;
- Move the cursor to ‘Social’ and click on the information button that appears;
- Finally, tick the services you want to use and click ‘Done’.
And that was it! If you have ticked the services and log in with an account, you can use Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. This makes it possible, for example, to send a tweet or a message with iMessage. The apps and web versions offer more options, although the Notification Center is fine for many users.
