Do you use the same Netflix profile together with someone else, or are the recommendations often wrong? In that case, it might pay off to delete your Netflix history. This is how you do that.
Delete Netflix history
Everyone has his or her own guilty pleasures on Netflix. You secretly enjoy certain b-movies or series, but in moderation. It is therefore annoying that Netflix does include these titles in its recommendations, which means that you are served too many guilty pleasures. Docs, films and series that you find really interesting slip out of your attention.
In that case, it is wise to delete your Netflix history. This list keeps track of which titles you have watched and makes recommendations based on this. Here’s how to delete Netflix history and start with a clean slate:
- Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad and go to the Netflix website;
- Log in if necessary and tap your profile picture at the top left;
- Select ‘Account’ and then ‘Viewing activity’;
- Then press the cross next to titles you want to delete;
- Do you want to delete your entire viewing history in one go? Then press ‘Hide all’ at the bottom of the page.
It can take up to 24 hours for the movies or series to disappear from your history. Once this is done, the algorithm will also be adjusted, and Netflix will make other suggestions for shows that you may find interesting. Do you watch Netflix together with your child? Titles in Kids profiles cannot be hidden. Why this is is not clear.
