Hiding the iPhone dock: this is how you do it
You cannot make your dock invisible via the settings of your iPhone. It is therefore a frequently heard suggestion to make the dock customizable, but so far there is no official method for this.
By using a specific method, you can still make your dock invisible. For this, you have to set a special wallpaper on your iPhone, after which your dock will disappear. These backgrounds can be found on a Japanese website, where you can choose from different images with the desired effect.
This is how you hide the dock on your iPhone
- Choose and save a background this web page. Any wallpapers you find there will automatically hide the dock. In some cases you have to turn perspective on or off: this is stated with the image;
- Open the image via your Photos app;
- Tap the Share button and set the image as the background, taking into account the perspective setting;
- You should no longer be able to see the dock, just like the image below.
A minor iOS bug
The way the trick works is related to a minor glitch in iOS. The colors used in each background are composed in such a way that they counteract the colors of the dock. Because they work against each other, ultimately nothing appears in the background. Until Apple fixes this problem with an iOS update, you can continue to hide the dock this way. You just have to live with the fact that you cannot choose your own image for your background.
