Know who is calling without having to look at your iPhone; with this tip to set iPhone ringtones, it is very easy. This is how it works.
Set an iPhone ringtone per contact
Sometimes it can be helpful to know who is trying to reach you. By setting a ringtone and message tone for your favorite contacts, you immediately know how important it is to pick up your iPhone and respond.
Setting these contact-specific tones has been in iOS for years, but will be unknown to many users. You have to search for it before you come across the position. You can set it up in a minute using the steps below.
- Open the Contacts app;
- Choose the contact person for whom you want to set a unique tone;
- Tap ‘Edit’ in the top right corner of the screen;
- Tap on ‘Ringtone’ and choose a ringtone;
- Tap Done when you’re done;
- Do the same for the text tone;
- Tap Done to save the settings.
Easy to put on and off
If you now use the Contacts app and look up the person, you can see which tones you have set. Here you can also adjust or remove the tone. As soon as you disconnect a ringtone from a contact, you will simply hear the default ringtone you have set when he or she calls or sends you a message.
