This is how you make an animated iPhone wallpaper
You’ve been choosing a photo as your wallpaper for years, but did you know you can use any video to make your lock screen come to life? All you need is a video and the iOS app intoLive.
intoLive is a free iPhone app that converts a video file into a Live Photo. This step is necessary because Apple only supports Live Photos for animated wallpapers. Fortunately, this is done in a few seconds with this free app. While the app is completely free to use, you will need to view a short ad before you can save the Live Photo.
Here’s how to use a video as an animated iPhone wallpaper:
- Download the intoLive app from the App Store;
- Follow the steps on the screen and convert a video to Live Photo;
- Open the Settings app;
- Choose ‘Background’;
- Choose the Live Photos folder;
- Select the photo just created;
- Set the image as a wallpaper and choose ‘Lock Screen’.
If you have now set the Live Photo as the background of the lock screen, you can activate the animation by pressing firmly on the screen. In this way, an apparently still image suddenly comes to life for a few seconds. Keep in mind that animated wallpapers will not work on the home screen, which is where your apps are.
