Using the Instagram emoji slider
Instagram continues to invent new ways to make your Instagram Stories more fun. This mainly happens with stickers. Nice is that these stickers are becoming more and more interactive. It was already possible to add a poll to your story, and now Instagram is adding an emoji slider. We explain how you use this slider in Stories of others, but also how you place them yourself.
Using the emoji slider
The emoji slider is a way to see how your followers think about a topic, with more freedom than a poll. Do you see the slider in someone else’s story? Then you can slide the emoji to give your opinion.
Above the slider there is usually a question to which you can respond by sliding. If you agree with the question, slide the emoji to the right. If you don’t agree, slide the emoji to the left. The emoji slider poster will see an average of all answers, but can also view each individual answer.
This is how you place the emoji slider yourself
To post an emoji slider yourself, open Instagram and complete the following steps.
- Tap the camera in the top left corner;
- Take a photo, video or add image from your library;
- Tap the sticker button at the top (the square smiley with a loose corner);
- Choose the slider on which a smiley with two heart eyes moves back and forth;
- Enter a question or leave this field empty;
- Choose an emoji by tapping the emoji slider and choosing another option below the slider;
- Tap on ‘Done’;
- Press ‘Your report’ to publish the story.

Instagram is rapidly adding new possibilities to Instagram Stories. In addition to the poll function and the emoji slider, you will find even more options with the stickers. This way you can add the current location, time and temperature. With the gif button you add a moving image and with ‘@mention’ you name another Instagram user. If you press the photo icon, you can place a photo of yourself in your story. With these five tips you can make even better Stories.
