The Apple smart home hub, which is also called ‘Apple command center’ or simply ‘HomePod with display’, will unfortunately only appear later.
HomePod with display will come later
The message that the HomePod with display will not appear until later comes from Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. Apple has been working on this new device for your smart home for a while and it was expected to be released this spring.
Here’s what we expect: a 7-inch display with a top camera, a built-in rechargeable battery, the homeOS operating system, focus on video apps like FaceTime, support for many Apple apps, a dashboard based on the StandBy mode of the iPhone, control of your smart home and support for Apple Intelligence.

Possible delay
Despite the many rumors that have been circulating for so long, until now it seemed that Apple was really on the verge of finally releasing the new device. But mainly due to the many delays at Apple Intelligence, it could take a little longer before it comes to market, according to Gurman:
Apple has been planning to introduce the home hub in March, but it may take longer to reach consumers. The device’s new operating system — code-named Pebble — is heavily tied to App Intents features coming in iOS 18.4 and iOS 19, so it’s plausible that the hardware itself will ship a bit later.
Loosely translated it says:
Apple plans to introduce the Home hub in March, but it could take longer to reach consumers. The device’s new operating system – codenamed Pebble – is closely tied to the App Intentsfunctions in iOS 18.4 and iOS 19. This makes it likely that the hardware itself will become available a little later.
Although Apple will probably release the new hardware later, it seems like we will see a reveal in the coming months. The fact that the new HomePod with display will nevertheless become available later is also logical since it is so dependent on Apple Intelligence.
Gurman also says that Apple plans to launch ‘LLM Siri’ in iOS 19.4. This is an advanced version of Siri that uses ‘more advanced Large Language Models’, making two-way conversations possible. We expect that version of iOS sometime in the spring of 2026. Apple is also preparing its own range of smart home accessories. There will probably be a doorbell with Face ID support and a more personal security camera.
