Friday afternoon, four o’clock. Computer off, the door of your workplace can close behind you, the weekend has started. On Autoreview.nl we look back on a week in which we turned out to be able to change the color of the BMW iX and a Tesla driver exploded with anger. Good news, bad news. Top and flop.

+ Top – Tired of the color of your car? This BMW changes its shade in no time!
Remember those toy cars that you could sink into warm water for a different color? This BMW iX can do something similar. It has a special wrap, which you can change with a simple action. Then the electric SUV is white again, then black again.

+ Top – Euro NCAP: ‘Forget the disastrous Dacia Spring. These are the safest cars of 2021!’
In a collision, the occupants of a Dacia Spring or Renault Zoe could be seriously injured. So you better be in one of the following five cars. Because, according to Euro NCAP, these are the safest new cars of 2021.

+ Top – The Mercedes EQS has the widest range of all the electric cars we tested
If there is an electric car on the editorial board of Car Review we want to know what the range is at 100 km/h and 130 km/h. How does the Mercedes EQS score? Well, it lands right at the top of our range top.

– Flop – Tesla Model S driver does not want to pay 20,000 euros for a new battery. Blow up your own car!
The warranty on older Tesla Model S models has now expired. And then replacing the battery becomes an extremely expensive joke. A Finnish man was presented with a quote of 20,000 euros for the job. So he decided to blow up his Model S with dynamite.

– Flop – Electric cars less popular in worst year of sales since the 60s
Not so few new cars have been sold since the 1960s as in 2021. The counter remained at 322,831 copies. That is 9.2 percent less than in 2020 (355,431) and no less than 28 percent less than in 2019, the last corona-free sales year.

– Flop – IGN: ‘You are destroying the environment by buying used cars!’
It’s all your fault that the environment is going to hell! That is – quite exaggerated – the message from ING. Because you buy much more used cars than new cars, the greening of the Dutch vehicle fleet has come to a halt.
