Total offers French medical personnel free fuel

The corona crisis delivers a lot of sad and worrying news, but fortunately beautiful and heartwarming initiatives are also emerging at the same time. This also applies to Total, which in its own country of France supports medical staff in its own way.

Due to the high risk of infection with the corona virus, public transport is virtually silent worldwide. Moving by car, with one occupant, is a lot safer. This may be essential, especially for medical personnel. To respond to this, Total is making fuel free of charge for hospital employees in its country of origin, France. Hospitals across the country receive € 50 million in vouchers that can be returned to Total petrol stations.

The oil company hopes in this way to be a support in this crisis as soon as possible: “We as a group have decided to make this practical gesture, as support for our hospital staff, who are working to ensure the health of patients “said CEO Patrick Pouyanné. Here in the Netherlands, ‘us’ Shell had already shown itself from a philanthropic side. That company made 2.5 million liters of an important hand gel raw material available free of charge.
