Touring Superleggera Aero 3 is Ferrari F12 with retro sauce

You can entrust Touring Superleggera with an exotic to turn it into something special. This is proven with the latest creation: the Aero 3. A tribute based on the Ferrari F12Berlinetta to racing cars from the 1930s.

Over the years, Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera has treated us to various high-profile creations. It transformed a Bentley Continental GT into a shooting brake, the Alfa Romeo 8C was transformed into the Disco Volante and it was based on a Maserati GranTurismo with the Sciadipersia. The Ferrari F12 has also been taken care of by the Italian company. It is now again the F12 (Berlinetta) that has been tackled by the rough. See here: the Touring Superleggera Aero 3.

Unlike the last time they put the saw in a Ferrari, Touring Superleggera has now fully entered the retro tour. According to its creators, the car should be a contemporary tribute to the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Le Mans from the 1930s. That car, which, as the name suggests, was intended for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, already received its bodywork from Carrozzeria Touring. Now, 82 years later, the Aero 3 must recall memories of that model despite its base from another manufacturer.

Although you have to look twice to recognize the F12 in it, according to the body builder, the vast majority of the Ferrari has been left untouched. That is to say, nothing has changed in the technology. The bodywork has of course been taken care of from head to toe. The car has become almost 2 centimeters longer, but also 180 kilograms lighter due to the use of carbon fiber. The split grille with the two air intakes placed separately in the bumper are clear references to the Alfa Romeo from 1938. Just like the very special pointed rear, although the Alfa did not have such a wing in the center of the rear.

As said, nothing has changed under the body, and that means that the 6.3-liter V12 in the nose still squeezes 740 hp. In 3.1 seconds, the Aero 3 shoots to 100 km / h and spears to 340 km / h. A lot of people can’t enjoy it: Touring Superleggera is only going to transform fifteen F12s into an Aero 3. What the party should cost, they leave out, but you will probably buy a detached house in the middle of the country for the same money. At least …
