The Italian design house Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera has something special in the development rooms. The exclusive car manufacturer will soon be celebrating its 95th birthday and will be giving itself a new model as a gift.
Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera is perhaps best known today for cars such as the Alfa Romeo-based Disco Volante and its open-cut Spyder brother, but the company has a particularly rich portfolio that also includes various Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The coachbuilder will celebrate his 95th birthday later this year with a new model.
Touring Superleggera describes its newcomer as a coupé with two seats. It is the coachbuilder’s first car that does not have the engine in the front or back, but in the middle of the car behind the front seats. The car, which can already be seen under a canvas on a teaser plate, is laced with design elements that refer to previous creations of the brand, according to the design house. It is not yet known which car served as the basis for Touring’s birthday present. We’ll know more later this month.
