The Toyota Camry may not be the first car you expect sporty trimmed versions of. But if you’re in the market for a dynamically decked out Camry, Toyota’s Gazoo Racing and in-house tuner Modellista can help.
The Camry is perhaps not the first car that comes to mind when you think of sporty decorated versions, something that has mainly to do with the fact that Toyota’s 4.88 meter long sedan in the Netherlands is only available as a 2.5 Hybrid. In the United States, however, Toyota simply supplies a Camry with 300 hp and 362 Nm strong 3.5 V6, a variant of which Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has even prepared an exuberant version. Anyone who manages to fish in the products of Toyota’s GR department (GR Parts) and Toyota’s in-house tuner Modellista through the import channels can also give the less vehemently motorized versions of the facelifted Camry a sportier appearance.
Toyota Camry (GR Parts)
Gazoo Racing has developed a range of optical extras for the updated Camry that Toyota’s motorsport division has added to its GR Parts catalog. The Camry gets a noticeable black part in the grille that somewhat brings back the ‘beak’ that disappeared from the model’s facelift. GR gives the Camry a rear spoiler, a relatively heavy rear spoiler and provides the sedan with extra skirts all around. Of course GR Parts also has different types of alloy wheels and an exhaust system with four tailpipes on the menu. In winter, of course, vapor only comes from one specimen on the left.
Toyota Camry Smart Shine (Modellista)
Toyota home tuner Modellista presents the renewed Camry in two flavors. The white Bright Elegance variant only has a modified rear bumper, a new front lip and a set of thicker side skirts. The black Smart Shine version is provided with a series of silver-colored details all around. We encounter silver strips in the grille, under the doors, on the rear spoiler and under the rear lights. Both variants can be equipped with alloy wheels in sizes 16 (!) To 19 inches.
