Toyota supplies the Corolla in various shapes and sizes. The Auris successor is available as a Hatchback, Touring Sports and as a Sedan, body variants that can also be equipped with different engines. Toyota will shorten the price difference between the 1.8 Hybrid and 2.0 Hybrid.
Unlike the Corolla Sedan, the Corolla Hatchback and Touring Sports are not only available with the 122 hp 1.8 Hybrid powertrain. An attractive, extra powerful 184 hp 2.0 Hybrid is also on the order list for both body styles. The price difference between the 1.8 Hybrid and 2.0 Hybrid is currently around € 2,500 across the board, but as of April 1 (no joke) Toyota is lowering the financial threshold between the two hybrid versions.
The 2.0 Hybrid versions of the Corolla Hatchback and Touring Sports are from April 1 to August 31 € 1.505 cheaper than is currently the case. That brings the price difference between the two powertrains to roughly € 995. For that modest extra cost you get with the 2.0 Hybrid a powertrain that is 62 hp and 48 Nm more powerful. With that potent drivetrain, the Corolla Hatchback and Touring Sports sprint three full seconds faster to 100 km / h than the 1.8 Hybrid versions. The average consumption of the Hatchback and Touring Sports 2.0 Hybrid is theoretically 3.9 l / 100 km, while the 1.8 Hybrids per 100 km average – depending on the chosen version – 3.3 to 3.6 liters of petrol.
The starting price of the Corolla Hatchback 2.0 Hybrid will soon be temporarily at € 32,440, for the Touring Sports 2.0 Hybrid you have to assume a starting price of € 33,440 until the end of August.
