Mild-hybrid Hilux to Europe

We’ve known it was coming for a long time, but now Toyota has also confirmed that the Hilux will get a touch of electric assistance in Europe. The Toyota Hilux will not be an EV, a plug-in hybrid or a regular hybrid. The Toyota Hilux does come to the Netherlands with a mild-hybrid powertrain.
Already in June, AutoWeek got wind of the arrival of a mild-hybrid powertrain for the Toyota Hilux. We heard that Toyota would launch a mild-hybrid Hilux in Australia. The Dutch importer could not yet say whether the mild-hybrid Hilux would also come our way, although we expected that to happen. What seems? The Toyota Hilux with mild-hybrid powertrain is indeed coming to Europe.
We do not yet receive extensive technical information about the Toyota Hilux Hybrid 48V, as the mild-hybrid Hilux has in full. Toyota does say that the maximum towing weight and maximum payload will remain unchanged at 3,500 kilos and 1,000 kilos respectively.
In Australia, the mild-hybrid Toyota Hilux has a 2.8 diesel engine. With an average of 8.2-8.6 l/100 kilometers, it consumes about 10 percent less than the Hilux with the more conventional 2.8. Toyota now only supplies the Hilux in the Netherlands with a 150 hp 2.4 and a 204 hp 2.8. It is not yet known when the Toyota Hilux Hybrid 48V will be available for sale in the Netherlands.
