More economical or fatter?

Toyota is adding the new GR Sport version of the Hilux to the price list, but it doesn’t stop there. The new mild-hybrid version is also included.
The price list of the Toyota Hilux has been expanded with several different versions. To start with, the updated Toyota Hilux GR Sport is now available. It looks a bit thicker than the previous one, but contrary to what its appearance suggests, it is not stronger than usual. The wider and higher on its wheels, the Hilux GR Sport has the 204 hp 2.8 diesel engine that we already knew from the Hilux. New is a mild-hybrid version of that powertrain, in which a 48V system should reduce consumption. The prices of both the GR Sport and the mild-hybrid Hilux are now known.
The mild-hybrid Toyota Hilux is only available with a double cabin and costs at least €45,550 excluding VAT. This makes it just under four grand more expensive than a comparable Hilux with the 150 hp 2.4 diesel engine. The Toyota Hilux GR Sport is not surprisingly at the bottom of the price list, for €51,450.
