New November record

Toyota built nearly a million cars last month: more than the brand ever did in November. The production problems that the brand recently experienced due to supply shortages and covid-19 therefore seem to be more and more a thing of the past. The Japanese are heading for more cars sold than in 2021 and that was unthinkable earlier this year.
982,552 cars: this is how much Toyota produced in November 2022. A new November record (+ 1.8 percent compared to the previous one), mainly due to the brand’s overseas production. Toyota’s Japanese factories rolled out slightly fewer cars in November than in the same month last year, but its production centers in Europe and the US, among others, more than made up for that. Toyota produced 619,332 cars in non-Japanese plants last month, 4.2 percent more than in November last year – another record.
Global sales lagged somewhat behind production in November (884,112 units), but still showed an increase compared to last year (+ 3.7 percent). In total, Toyota sold more than 9.5 million cars from January to November this year; roughly the same as last year. Over the period from January to October, there was still a small minus in the sales totals, but that has now been brushed away. It therefore seems that despite the production problems of earlier this year – which according to the brand have not yet been completely resolved – and the economic uncertainty, Toyota is ultimately writing a better 2022 than 2021. In any case, the brand has no reason to complain in the Netherlands.
