Engine version less
The Toyota RAV4 is now only available with electrical assistance. The Dutch importer is drawing a line through regular petrol versions, which means that only the (plug-in) hybrid engine versions remain.
Despite the fact that Toyota has been profiling itself for years as a manufacturer of cars with hybrid powertrains, it has also supplied the RAV4 with a relatively traditional and 175 hp 2.0 four-cylinder petrol engine. That always equipped with a manual six-speed front-wheel drive engine version is now no longer available in the Netherlands, AutoWeek can report after confirmation from the importer. The 2.0 VVT-iE engine version will disappear from the Dutch delivery range. The hybrid and plug-in hybrid will continue to exist. Toyota does introduce a small price increase of €200 on the regular hybrid version, but you get more equipment in return.
The starting price of the Toyota RAV4 is higher after the loss of the conventional petrol version, which previously cost at least €44,495. After all, for the Toyota RAV4 2.5 Hybrid with front-wheel drive you have lost €47,995 after the price increase. For that amount you get the Active version. From now on, every RAV4 will have front parking sensors as standard. The RAV4 2.5 Hybrid has a system power of 218 hp. It is also available in combination with four-wheel drive. That four-wheel drive variant produces 222 hp and costs a minimum of €54,495.
The plug-in hybrid Toyota RAV4 2.5 Plug-in Hybrid has a system power of 306 hp, can travel up to 75 electric kilometers on a full battery and costs a minimum of €57,695 as a Dynamic.
