Toyota is slowly picking up its European production again. After two previous reopenings, the factory gates in Turkey are opening again today.
Toyota is again starting production this week in Sakarya, Turkey. There is the so-called TMMT factory where the C-HR is built in addition to the Corolla sedan. Production will initially be started on a small scale, later everything will have to run at full speed again. This reopening has forced employees of Toyota Motor Manufactoring UK Deeside to return to work slowly, as the petrol and hybrid powertrains for these two cars are being assembled there in Wales.
Both factories, like the rest, closed their doors in mid-March due to the corona virus outbreak. Now that many European countries are introducing more flexible rules, Toyota is also letting the reins celebrate. Before everyone can start working in the factories, Toyota takes the time to inform each employee about the new working conditions. Toyota previously opened all of its factories in France and Poland.
