Like all other car brands, Toyota stopped production in its European factories because of the corona virus. If all goes well, two factories will continue production this month.
Two weeks ago, Toyota announced production shutdown in all its European factories. At that time, the Japanese indicated that it would shut things down at least until April 20. It now appears that two factories may be able to get back to work shortly after that date. The factory in Poland and the one in France are expected to get the green light on April 22 to resume production to a limited extent. That reports Reuters based on a statement from Toyota. The other European factories, in the UK, Czech Republic, Portugal and Turkey, seem to remain closed for the time being.
The Polish factory, near Wałbrzych, is responsible for the production of Toyota engines and transmissions. The Yaris is being built in the factory in France, in Onnaing, near the Belgian border. In the factories that remain closed for the time being, the C-HR and Corolla (Turkey), the Aygo (Czech Republic), the Land Cruiser (Portugal) and the Auris (UK) are being built.
