Toyota Starlet (1998) – Enthusiast Wanted

You don’t get that close to new easily

Toyota Starlet (1998) – Enthusiast Wanted

We have one again: a car that only belonged to an ‘old lady’ and is therefore now a kind of moving time capsule. This Toyota Starlet is probably about the ‘newest’ you can find.

It is actually not good for cars to hardly ever drive, but it sometimes produces very special pictures. What about this 1998 Toyota Starlet, which really seems to still be in showroom condition? Only 18,136 km are on the odometer, which really has six figures. A mileage that we would immediately believe based on the optical condition, because the Starlet is really impressive.

There is even still plastic on the carpet, although it could of course have been added later to further ‘dress’ the car like a moving time capsule. In any case, it doesn’t look out of place, because the rest of the interior also looks spotless. This also applies to the engine compartment. Not surprising, if the 1.3 only had to deliver 720 km per year.

‘Mrs Vanderstraete’ from Aalst, Belgium, sat here very occasionally

According to the provider, the Starlet was purchased new by a certain Mrs. Vanderstraete from Aalst, Belgium, and she drove the Starlet until 2019. After that, the red Japanese probably visited some companies before he ended up in Susteren in Limburg. There doesn’t seem to be a Dutch license plate for it yet. The provider does have a whole package of documentation to confirm the history of the car. That is also allowed, because €6,950 is being asked for this museum piece.
