Toyota comes with an extra lavishly decorated variant of its largest pick-up: the Tundra. We are introduced digitally to the Tundra Capstone, a giant that will not come to the Netherlands but which you can enjoy digitally.
Pickups in the segment of cars like the Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150 are extremely popular in the United States. Toyota has the Tundra in that class, a pick-up that is at least 5.93 meters long, of which Toyota now presents an extra luxurious version: the Capstone.
The Tundra Capstone is Toyota’s answer to cars like the F-150 in Limited trim, meaning the Capstone is loaded with all the goodies Toyota can deliver on the Tundra. The Capstone is equipped with extra chrome work compared to the regular Tundra. Lots of chrome even. The SUV sits on 22-inch chrome wheels, has chrome trim in the grille, lower doors, around the window surrounds, on the side mirror caps and at the rear.

The interior also consists of a colorful collection of pampering. The Tundra Capstone has black semi-leatherette upholstery on the seats and white leatherette on the doors and headrests and not only the center tunnel but also the underside of the dashboard is covered with the material. We see walnut wood finish in the center tunnel and on the center track of the dashboard. The top of the dashboard is in turn covered with black artificial leather. Mood lighting? From the party. The same applies to a glass panoramic roof, extra soundproof glass, a heated steering wheel, digital instruments and a 14-inch measuring infotainment screen. More digital indulgence comes in the form of a 10-inch head-up display. An extensive audio system from JBL with 12 speakers should provide a more than decent sound experience. Toyota only supplies the Capstone version in combination with the 443 and 790 Nm strong hybrid powertrain. The combustion engine of this version is a double blown 3.5 V6.
Is the Tundra Capstone coming to the Netherlands? Not through the official channels, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the new Tundra and possibly even this lavishly decorated version finds its way to the Netherlands through the import channels.
