Extensive model year update brings 130 hp hybrid to Yaris
The current generation of Toyota Yaris has been running since the end of 2019 and Toyota thinks it is still too early for a facelift. It does bring a completely new hybrid powertrain to the Yaris. The delivery range of the Toyota Yaris is being expanded with a 130 hp hybrid variant.
Toyota is sharpening the Yaris, but don’t expect an extensive facelift that brings things like new bumpers and other headlights or taillights to the model. Toyota will introduce a second hybrid powertrain for the Yaris. The existing variant formerly called Yaris Hybrid and now Yaris Hybrid 115 will be joined by the Yaris Hybrid 130. The number in the name of that powertrain naturally gives away what you can expect from that hybrid version in terms of power.
The Toyota Yaris Hybrid 130 has a more powerful electric motor than the Toyota Yaris Hybrid 115. This gives the Toyota Yaris Hybrid 130 a system power of 130 hp and 185 Nm. This makes it naturally more powerful than the 116 hp and 141 Nm strong Yaris Hybrid 115. The Toyota Yaris Hybrid 130 reaches a speed of 100 km/h from standstill in 9.2 seconds. The 116 hp strong and equally well-known hybrid Yaris needs half a beat longer for that job.

Charmed by the three relatively small digital displays behind the steering wheel of the Yaris, two of which are housed in round tubes? Then go quickly to the Toyota dealer. The refreshed Yaris no longer has them. Behind the steering wheel there is now always a larger digital display that – depending on the chosen version – has a diagonal of 7 or 12.3 inches. The updated infotainment system has a diagonal of 9 or 10.5 inches, while 9 inches used to be the largest variant. Over-the-air updates are now possible. Also new is the option to turn your mobile phone into a virtual car key using the MyT application. With this phone app you can now also remotely lock and unlock the car, control the climate control and activate the hazard lights. There is also news on the security front. The Toyota Yaris will get a new camera and a new radar, which means that things like the Pre-Collision System are now able to detect a larger number of objects and vehicles, among other things. Intersection Collision Avoidance Support has also been improved as a result.
Premier Edition
Toyota introduces the new Yaris hand in hand with a new top model called Premiere Edition. This variant is sprayed Neptune Blue and has a black roof and black window frames. You will also find blue details in the interior of this variant. It sits on 17-inch Black Polished alloy wheels and is also available in two-tone Platinium Park White and Shimmering Silver Metallic. For the other versions of the Toyota Yaris, there are also new wheels, colors and even new seat upholstery.
With the launch of the new Yaris, a new top version is also launched, the Premiere Edition. This model comes in the new special Neptune Blue bi-tone paint with a contrasting black roof and window pillars. The blue theme continues in the interior with contrasting stitching on the seats and trim on the dashboard and door panels. Newly designed 17-inch black polished alloy wheels complete the look. The Premiere Edition will also be available in bi-tone Platinum Pearl White or bi-tone Shimmering Silver Metallic paint.
The first copies of the tightened Toyota Yaris will come to the Netherlands in the spring of 2024.
