Triumph recalls Speed Triple 1200 RR and RS: block may overheat

Triumph has rolled out a recall for the latest generation Speed Triple 1200 RR and Speed Triple 1200 RS. The temperature of the block can rise too much, causing the cooling fin behind the radiator to fail and eventually coolant to leak due to overpressure.

Triumph recalls Speed Triple 1200 RR and RS: block may overheat

After Triumph received an initial warranty claim in February 2023 from a Street Triple 1200 that had started leaking coolant, the quality department was asked by the Central Warranty Team in August that year to investigate the matter further.

In February this year, the investigation was completed, which showed that the temperature in the block could rise too much, causing the cooling fin behind the radiator to no longer cool and in turn to overheat and break down, after which the block itself overheated.

Triumph was able to solve the problem easily by adjusting the calibration of the engine block (more precisely: the ignition), with the aim of lowering the operating temperature of the block. This new software will be installed free of charge at the Triumph dealer (of course).
