Two Land Rover plug-ins temporarily more expensive than promised

Jaguar Land Rover has not been able to complete the originally intended WLTP certification for the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque P300e due to the corona virus. For the time being, therefore, higher emissions figures apply than expected, causing the prices of both P300es in the Netherlands to rise slightly.

According to Land Rover, not all technical people could get started due to the corona virus. The lack of manpower meant that the original promised emissions and range figures for the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque P300e have not yet been certified. For the Discovery Sport, best-case figures of 36 grams of CO2 per km and an electric range of 62 km were promised. For the Evoque, these figures were 32 grams per km and 62 km range respectively. In order to be able to continue the delivery of both P300es, it was decided to apply a ‘worst-case’ certification. This means that both the Evoque and the Discovery Sport P300e now have a range of 55 km on paper and CO2 emissions of 44 grams per km.

The configurator indicates that both P300e’s are currently not available to order, but Jaguar Land Rover Netherlands confirms to Techzle that this is the case. Prices are currently being adjusted due to the higher emissions on paper. The Discovery Sport P300e will be available from € 59,305 (was € 58,807) and the Evoque P300e has a new starting price of € 60,826 (was € 59,948). Customers who have ordered a car at the old price do not have to pay the difference. Jaguar Land Rover is currently working on getting the more favorable certification through. It is not yet known whether Jaguar Land Rover will encounter problems in meeting the European CO2 standard due to this delay.
