Toyota just previewed two new electric study models and now we can show you two more new electric Toyotas. These are the Global HiAce BEV Concept and the X-Van Gear Concept.

Toyota Auto Body is a branch within Toyota that is involved, among other things, in the development and production of light commercial vehicles. Toyota Auto Body will also be present at the Japan Mobility Show later this month. It presents, among other things, the Global HiAce BEV Concept and the X-Van Gear Concept. Although they are both spacious and electric, each model has its own design.

We start with the Global HiAce BEV Concept, which seems to be the most relevant of the two. With the study model, Toyota seems to be giving a concrete hint to a fully electric variant of the HiAce commercial vehicle, the big brother of the ProAce, which is also available in the Netherlands. The study model is clearly recognizable as a HiAce, but has its own front and new rear lights. The interior is also striking. There is only one seat in the HiAce BEV Concept and it is – you wouldn’t expect it – for the driver. Furthermore, the bus has a completely flat loading floor. The cargo space of the 5.28 meter long electric space giant is 3.5 meters deep.

The second newcomer is the Toyota X-Van Gear Concept. Toyota Auto Body describes this playfully designed show car as a combination of an SUV and an MPV. It has three rows of seats, swiveling front seats and a bench in the second row that – once folded – can also be used as a table. According to Toyota, the interior should exude the atmosphere of a living room. The concept car has two tear-down doors on each side and has large windows, complete with MPV-like high extra side windows between the front side windows and the windshield. The X-Van Gear Concept is 4.7 meters long and has a wheelbase of one decent 2.97 meters. Toyota is not yet sharing any information about the six-seater electric powertrain.
