Accent marks on letters help with the pronunciation of words. Therefore, it is useful to know how to type accent marks on iPad/iPhone.
Enter accent marks
Entering vowels with accent marks is not difficult on the iPad or iPhone. We explain it by means of the word ‘one’.
- In the word ‘one’, the letter ‘e’ has an accent mark. Press the ‘e’ a little longer on the keyboard (touch screen) of the device.
- A box will appear above the letter ‘e’ with all variants of the letter ‘e’ with an accent. Slide your finger (without lifting the screen) to the ‘e’ with the accent you need. In this case, that’s the ‘é’. Make sure to keep your finger on the screen. As soon as you take your finger off the screen, the accented window closes again.
- When you place your finger on the correct accent mark, you can release the screen.
The accent mark is inserted. This works the same for accent marks on other letters.
