Subaru has a facelifted XV in the development rooms. Today we can show you a first image of the European market version of that sharpened crossover.
Subaru presented the current generation XV to the European public at the Geneva Motor Show. Subaru’s crossover was also introduced to a hybrid e-Boxer powertrain in 2019. The XV has been on the market for a few years now, which means that Subaru is perfecting the model in detail.
It will come as no surprise that there was a renewed version of the XV in the barrel. The American equivalent of the XV, the Subaru Crosstrek, was honed last year and the Impreza, which is strongly related to the XV / Crosstrek, was also subtly renewed in Japan in 2019. The English branch of Subaru today shows a first image of the renewed XV intended for the European market.

Subaru XV
The renewed Subaru XV again optically differs from its American Crosstrek brother. The external differences with the XV launched in 2017 are not very drastic. Subaru is fine-tuning the XV by giving the crossover a new front bumper, complete with a larger black plastic part, a new skid plate and new L-shaped silver-gray inserts. Subaru gives the XV new trim around the fog lights, a sleek and more angular grille with, in addition to other mesh, also a new horizontal part where the Subaru logo is housed. Subaru also brings new 18-inch alloy wheels to the XV and makes two new exterior colors available: Plasma Yellow and Horizon Blue.
Subaru improves, among other things, an improved X-Mode mode and can now be set in Snow / Dirt and Snow / Mud modes. Handy if you are on slippery terrain with the four-wheel drive XV. More adjustments? Sure, Subaru is overhauling the suspension by giving the XV new springs and dampers and giving the crossover, among other things, a front-facing camera with a 180-degree viewing angle. The side mirrors will now adjust as soon as you put the transmission in R. In addition, the mirrors will automatically fold in when you turn off the engine. In addition, the XV benefits from the arrival of a memory function for both the electrically adjustable driver’s seat and the side mirrors.
Subaru currently supplies the XV in the Netherlands with a 114 hp 1.6 four-cylinder boxer engine, although the e-Boxer powertrain is the jewel of the XV range. The Subaru XV e-Boxer is a hybrid with a 150 hp 2.0 four-cylinder boxer engine and a 17 hp electric motor. Regardless of the chosen version, the XV has four-wheel drive.
We are still awaiting a response from Subaru Netherlands about the Dutch situation with regard to the renewed XV.
