Used cars have become more expensive on average

Occasions in our part of Europe have become more expensive on average this year. This is evident from figures from AutoScout24. In the Netherlands this is a relatively small increase.

On average, in six countries in Europe (Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria) a used car is € 371 more expensive this year than last year. That is a smaller increase than last year, when an average of € 886 was added compared to a year earlier. In the Netherlands, the average price has increased by only € 94 this year. According to AutoScout24 an increase of 0.57 percent. Only in Germany and Austria was it more favorable, where there was no increase and even a decrease of 0.15 percent respectively in the average price of used cars.

As can be seen above, a used car in the Netherlands cost an average of € 16,603 this year. This puts us quite low compared to the other countries. According to AutoScout24, with an average price of € 36,489, you are by far the most expensive in the Netherlands if you want to buy a car that is at most 1 year old, but older cars are relatively affordable here. Especially 10 to 20 year old cars and cars over 20 years old are relatively cheap here.
