Kippa photo collection
Lovers of beautiful photos from Dutch TV history can indulge in the online Kippa photo collection. Press agency ANP and the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision have digitized no fewer than 162,000 images from the enormous photo archive of television and radio programs and made them accessible to everyone.
On the screen or on the wall
Not only is the project an important contribution to the historiography of Dutch television in recent decades, it is also a feast of recognition. Find images of Pipo the Clown, the Grote Meneer Kaktus Show, photos of a young Martine Bijl or Jimi Hendrix visiting the Netherlands.
The photo collection contains 700,000 photos from the Dutch media world and shows Hilversum from the 1950s to the 1990s. Some 162,000 of these have now been digitized and put online. These can be viewed in the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. Part of this can be viewed online from home via the site of Sound and Vision and through the Historical Archives of the ANP. A real photo of Jimi Hendrix or Pipo on the wall at home? A number of photos are also for sale in the ANP Photo Shop.
