Volkswagen cuts the Polo range

Volkswagen is streamlining its delivery range. Recently it was announced what consequences this had for the delivery range of the Tiguan Allspace and today it becomes clear what that means for the Dutch line-up of the Polo.

Until recently, the Dutch delivery range of the Volkswagen Polo consisted of a mix of petrol and diesel engines, but from now on the Polo price list looks very different. For example, Volkswagen puts a line through the 95 hp 1.6 TDI. With the disappearance of that self-igniter, the Polo has to do without a diesel version from now on. However, Volkswagen also cuts the number of petrol engines.

The 150 hp 1.5 TSI of the Dutch delivery list has also been cut and the 90 hp 1.0 TGI, an engine version that also uses natural gas in addition to petrol, must also be cleared. The 115 hp 1.0 TSI and the weaker 95 hp variant of that 1.0 are retained, although Volkswagen also crosses the GTI with its 200 hp 2.0 TSI on the other side of the spectrum.

According to the Dutch importer, the scrapping of the engines has to do with reducing the complexity of the supply. The 1.6 TDI is no longer produced according to Volkswagen, while the 150 hp 1.5 TSI has been dropped due to low market demand. The GTI is only temporarily unavailable, the top version will return at a later stage.
