Volkswagen: ‘ID.3 is coming this summer, updates will follow’

The Volkswagen ID.3 has no undisputed conception, but seems to be delivered to the first owners next summer. Volkswagen says that any problems with the software really do not throw a spanner in the works.

The Volkswagen ID.3 will be the car with which Volkswagen wants to position itself as a serious player in the EV market. The ID.3, which was developed from the ground up as an electric car, is expected to storm the market in large numbers from next summer, but that deadline has apparently been jeopardized several times. At the end of last year and early this year, there were several rumors that major software problems jeopardized the introduction of the ID.3 and that entire parking lots would already be full of a first problematic production series. It also seems that the e-Golf will have to continue longer to accommodate the ID.3’s introduction delay.

According to Automotive News, Volkswagen still sees it very differently and the situation just seems under control. According to a Volkswagen spokesman, the ID.3 will simply be released next summer according to plan. The first owners can expect several software updates afterwards: “The cars will receive the latest software version before they are delivered in the summer. After the market launch, the digital functions will be updated regularly in the months that follow”, says Volkswagen.
