Volkswagen ID Buzz already a popular tuning object

The market introduction of the Volkswagen ID Buzz has yet to take place, but various tuners are already eager to tackle the electric retro bus. Irmscher takes it relatively modestly, the Norwegian breeder Zyrus Engineering is taking it a bit more extreme.

We know Zyrus Engineering from the bizarre 1,200 hp Huracán that the tuner presented two years ago. With the ID Buzz, the company is taking a completely different approach, which does not seem a very unwise move given the immense popularity of EVs in Norway. On the front of the ID Buzz, Zyrus mounts a carbon fiber spoiler lip that has small fins on either side. The front bumper itself will not get a makeover. Furthermore, the ID Buzz side skirts made of carbon fiber and a diffuser made of the same material at the bottom of the rear bumper. Zyrus unfortunately does not show that diffuser in the photos, but it already looks quite sporty from the side.

However, the image at the rear is not so much determined by the diffuser, but more by the roof spoiler. It stands out not only because of its size, but even more so because of the shape of the third brake light. Zyrus mounts it in a kind of triangle, where on the regular ID Buzz it is just a horizontal strip with LEDs. To top it off, the side mirror covers are also made of carbon fiber and the ID Buzz sits on 22-inch wheels with, yes, carbon fiber discs that cover the entire wheel. On the renders, the bus also appears to have an airride system that allows you to lower it to the ground, but Zyrus doesn’t mention anything about that in the cover letter.

All that carbon has its price. Zyrus is asking €11,900 for all parts of the body kit, the wheels are an additional €4,999. The first body kits will be delivered at the beginning of 2023.
